Nail Wraps.

Hello again !
Well recently i have tried nail wraps for the very first time.
And surprisingly, i like them.
I received some free samples in the mail from a company called Jamberry Nails. And i wasn't sure what to do, so i tried them.
They are very easy to apply (took me a couple reapplications to get the wrap to where i wanted it..but i got them)
Badically, you find the wrap that fits your nail, put it in front of a heater, or hair dryer, then put it on your nail. You need t smooth it out of course with a little more heat and they look very nice.
I used "mint green chevron" for accent nails and painted the rest a mint green. Its a simple, quick and very nice mani.
If you have the chance to give them a try, i would say go for it !
I was nervous about trying them for the first time simply because i didnt know what i was doing, haha ! But now i know and i will likely try a different mani with a different wrap down the road :-)

Dream catchers and Feathers

Hello readers !
Like i mentioned in my last post, Im very behind and going to play catch up :)
So this particular design, i have seen floating around the internet nd sites and i decided, i had to try it ! It looks so nice and is fairly simple to do.
It does take a little bit of a steady hand, which i actually dont have :p And it wasnt that hard to do.

The colors i used for this nice dsign are...

SALLY HANEN - MINT
SALLY HANSEN
STRIPE RITE - BLACK
STRIPE RITE - WHITE
SALLY HANSEN - CARDINAL
SALLY HANSEN - LIGHTNING
SALLY HANSEN

Step by step on how i achived this....

STEP 1
To start, apply your base coat and then you colors. the mint and purple.

STEP 2
On the mint colored fingers, to make the dream catchers. make you half circles with the black stripper. make 3 lines down your nails for the tails.

STEP 3
for the webbing of the dream catcher, make 3 little arches, on top of those, put 2, the 3 then 2. Its the simplest way i found.

STEP 4
now for details. take your dotting tool, or tooth pick, and apply 3 dots inside the webbing for beads. on the tails, i put 2 on the ends and 3 in the middle.
Dream catches, done !

STEP 5
for your fathers, make a slightly curved line on your accent nails with your black stripper. now, make quick little line on your line to make the feather. leave a little at the end.

STEP 6
Finishing your feathers, take your white stripper, and make even fewer smaller lines on your black likes. this accents you feather.
Add details, i put 2 dots on the ends of them for beads and 2 little strings.

DONE
*********SEE PHOTO TUTORIAL BELOW FOR BETTER INSTRUCTIONS***********

And thats it !!
first looking at this design it looks so difficult. but really, its not so bad. And it looks great !!!
So please, dont be shy, gimme a comment and let me know what you think.
and tell me how my quick tutorials are.
I know they are not consistant in style, so let me know which way you like most !

Thanks for reading again <3

Tropical !

Hello again !
I have really fallen behind by a few nail desins. so we're going to be playing catch up !!!

Lets get right down to it. I did a this mani, i loved it  :) I did a tropical theme. Its been grey and damp here in Nova Scotia, and well, i needed a lttle up lift haha !!

I tried a different way of making the ombre on my nails. Its actually the way most tutorials say to do it, by putting the 3 colors on one sponge and sponging it onto the nails a few times. I have done it before, on different manis but didnt like how it turned out.
This is my problem with this mani. I did it that way and it didnt turn out as smooth and nice as i wished.
But not to bad. usually i sponge it on individually...which is very time consuming

As you can see in this picture, right around the cutical is where i have problems lol.
But overall, seeing it in person, the "messy" part isnt so apparent.which is nice lol

So anyways, heres the polishes i used :)

SINFUL COLORS - SNOW ME WHITE
SALLY HANSEN - BLACK HEART
SALLY HANSEN BLUE ME AWAY
SALLY HANSEN - SUN KISSED
SALLY HANSEN - LIGHTNING
STRIPE RITE BLACK

STEP 1:
Start off with your base coat.
then paint your nails with one coat of white. just so your colors show up better.

STEP 2:
**make sure the white is DRY!!!**
Next, take your make-up sponge, and make 3 lines of the colors. Dab it onto the white. You will have to do this 2, maybe 3 times. and then put on a FAST DRYING top coat. this smoothes out the colors and makes it look "blended"

STEP 3:
So, once you have your colors and they are dry. to make the dolphins....Take your black striper and on the thumb and ring, make...almost like a black banana. thats the body of the dolphin. next, make a little line under it to make the fin (ust the tip of your striper) do the same to make the fin and tail fins.
its actually simpilar then it looks lol.

STEP 4:
after that, to make your palm trees.. also with your striper, make a little "rock" just a line really on the tip of you nail.
Then make a line for the truck of your tree.
put 2 smal dots on the top of the tree, and from them, make the leaves of the tree.

DONE !!
Then, put on a fast drying top coat and TADA, u have the tropics on your nails !!
****PHOTO TUTPORIAL BELOW*****

my explaination sounds complicated, but once seeing the photos i hope it strightens out what i was trying to say !!

I hope these pictures help you understand what i was trying to say !! Im not very good with wording instruction !

Anyways,  really hope you enjoyed this and i hope you will for sure try it !!
Leave me some feedback and tell me what you think <3
Thanks again for reading !!

In th Beginning, Nail Art

Bonjour people !
I figured, for this post, I would show you some of my "oldies" for nail art ! When i first started, I wasn't much good. well, not horrible, but not the best. I personally feel like i have grown in doing nail art.
My collection of polish has grown, I actually had to get a container for it, and i actually got myself some dotting tools !! and stripers !! (i didnt have any before)
So, i was going thru some old pictures and came across some nails i did before christmas, and for christmas (thats when i started) and i thought it be fun to share them with you !!!
So let me show you some and have fun lol.

These i did for Halloween 2012. My first time really trying something..."nail artish" they are suppose to be pumpkins with weird faces. HA

These I did for winter time. It was the first time i tried anything to do with sponging. I didnt even really know people used sponges for nails ! The little flower things ont here, were made with nail art pens.I still have them, but hardly use them anymore.
My Watermelon Nails ! I dont think they turned out to bad lol. But as you can see, my nails had NO shape and yeah. I didnt do much with them at this point in time.
Santa nails. I tried the sponging again on the tips. I dont think Santa turned out to bad. I was very proud of my Santa :) this was for christmas 2012
Thes were me playig with my nail art pens again. I actually like this one. it was so simple and black and white. i liked it. i did this befoe christmas.

Theres actually more, but these are what Im going to show you. HAHAHA
bit of a change from then, to now i believe. And i feel, im only going to get better. Im learning so many more new techniqes and discovering new colors and color combos.
So i hope you enjoyed this little post about my old nail art when i first started to try it out.
I lov doing it, and learning new things and I hoping to continue  :)

Thanks so much for reading and taking a look at y oldies.
Dont forget to leave a comment about what you think :)

Thanks again <3

Pink, Sparkles and leopard print !

Hello again !
Trying to keep on top of my posts :) So, my lastest mani is super simple and in opinion, super cute ! I have had a couple people comment on them out and about :)
Its a super easy, leopard print. perfect for beginners :)

Now, normally i use sally hansen polish. But recently, i have bought myself some Sinful Colors, and i for one, love them! I had to try some of the colors out. so The colors used are...

SINFUL COLORS - "24/7"
SINFUL COLORS - "PINKY GLITTER"
SINFUL COLORS - "SNOW ME WHITE"
SALLY HANSEN - "BLACK HEART"
BASE COAT - PRO-FX PROTEIN ENRICHED
TOP COAT - SALY HANSEN INSTA-DRI

STEP 1:

Now, the first thing is to apply your base coat (as always) and then your colors. I used the "24/7" on 3 nails. and "snow me white" on my thumb and ring finger. The 24/7 i found, took 4 coats to get the color i wanted, which was the bright pink. And 2 coats of the white to make sure it was white :)

STEP 2:

Then, start on your dots of bright pink on top of the white with your dotting tool (or whatever you use for dotting. tooth picks, pens, etc) This is the start of your leopard print ! i did not do the whole nail. I only did the top half and down one side. Once you have your dots in, take a tooth pick, and make ( ) round the dots, and sme C shapes too if you wish (i did)

 STEP 3: FINAL

And finally, (yeap that fast !!) I put 1 thin coat of pinky glitter ontop of the 24/7, just to give it something (plus, who can go wrong with sparkles !) Now before applying yor top coat, i waited about 5 mins, just to allow it to dry a bit to avoid smudging. I put a very healthy amount on as well, so that the brush wouldnt touch the paint :) AND TA DAAAAA
beauty on your fingers !

Dont forget to clean up around your nails wih a q-tip and some polish remover. Ths makes your new mani look even better !!

And thats it. I personally love this mani, and it was super simple to do. anyone can do this, eve with short nails (i consider mine a med length) this design can be done. I know this. because i have done it on short nails before, and it still looks very nice.

So thank you so much for taking the time to read, or skim over my new post and I hope you enjoyed it.
Please, leave me a comment and let me know how i did or what you think of it !

LOVE !!

Odds and ends ! Ice cream, Mushrooms, Pink !

Well, Like i mentioned in my last post, that I have been busy with me and my childern being sick. so i actually did not get to do my nails there for a while. But i have started to get around to it again !
This post, is just showing some of the nail designs I have done, no tutorial pictures, just did not have the time really.

This first nail design I am going to show, is my last mani, i enjoyed doing it very much :) Its strawberry n vinella ice cream with dripping choc. sauce and sprinkles !!! I saw the original tutorial on a youtube channel, and i loved it and perfect for the warm weather that was here in the maritimes at the time :) heres some pictures.

The pink and white are matte. I dont have any matte polish so I mixed a little bit of corn starch to he colors and it actually worked !! Taking a dotting tool to make the drips and a tooth pick to make the sprinkles. Using  fast drying top coat and painting ONLY over the choc. sauce, gives it an always wet kind of look.
The polish remover didnt like trying to off the matte polish. so cleaning up around the nails i found, was very difficult. Even when it came time to remove the whole mani, i had an issue taking it off. But in the end, it was a fun design to do and i do want to try another dripping nails design again in the near future !!
This next mani, I DID IT, but its NOT MY FINGERS. lol. I did this one on my little sister.
MARIO MASHROOMS
This one was a very fun design to do. and she got lots of positive feedback fromm her classmates about them. People thought she did them herself lol.

These nails, all i did was painted all the nails black. 2 coats. and then i took a red, and using a dotting tool, made an arch shape. and to make the rounded part, just follow the shape of the nail without covering all the black. It makes a cool black outline. For the bottom part, i mixed an orange and white to make the "peach" color. Again, using a dotting tool, make 2 lines where the "face" part is and follow the curve of the red, without connecting the 2 colors. and eyes and spots, again, different sized dotting tools. And thats it. sorry my explaination is not the best.... but thats how i did it HAHAHA.

This last mani, Is the one im wearing right now (May 13, 2013) Its EXTREAMLY SIMPLE and Pink and Glittery !!

I simply painted my nails all a pinky glitter, did 2 coats. and then I took a pink stripper and a white stripper and made a few lines. Very simple.and i find it attactive. CUTE

So, thats it. My odds and ends of my nail art up to this point in time. Like i said before, i didnt have time to do pictures and such for these manis, but i tried to explain them and there is... the fnished picture ? HAHA

so I hope you enjoy reading this post and feel free to comment or leave me a message about which one is your favoriate one !!

Thanks again for reading <3
