Plastic Wrap !

Hello Hello Hello !!
I have gotten behind with my blogging. I been busy with sick childern and myself as well. But lets try to get caught up here shall we ?
This mani i did a bit ago is a saran wrap/plastic wrap nails. I did 2 full fingers and 3 french manis. I chose to do it this way because i really like french manis, and there are so many ways you can do it and its pretty, simple and overall, a good way to go if you're not sure what to do.

the colors i used for this mani are :

SALLY HANSEN - WHITE ON
SALLY HANSEN - "NO HARD FEELINGS"
SALLY HANSEN - "BLUE ME AWAY"
SALLY HANSEN 0 "SUN KISSED"
SALLY HANSEN -"LIGHTNING"
ART DECO -"ICE BREAKER"

BASE COAT - SALLY HANSEN - DIAMOND SHINE
TOP COAT - SALLY HANSEN- INSTA-DRI

So, lets start off step by step :)

STEP 1:

To start, apply your base coat and wait for it to dry. The apply your base color to the thumb and ring finger, I used the "no hard feelings" which is the purple. and the Blue me away, which is, blue.

STEP 2:

Next, take some regular scotch tape (the clear stuff) and place it over your other 3 nails as if you were a french tip. I painted the tips with the other colors. remove the tape after applying the color but before it dries. i take it off right after i apply it.
or else your nice clean line, wont be nice and clean.

STEP 3:

Next, is the saran wrap time. Make sure you have 10 peices of saran wrap (they dont need t be big at all) Now, your nails should be dry before you do this step. or else, i find, it will be like half dry glue just..make a mess.
So i took the blue, and painted one coat of it over the purple, and the take your saran wrap and GENTLY, dab it on the nail. you will see the effect. Do this on all your nails. I used white ont he french tips.

STEP 4:

Finally, to add a little sparkle. Take your stripper, i used the art deco, and apply a line on the french top. right across. i put 2 lines, for more sparkle. But really, use any sarkle stripper that you think will look good with your colors.

DONE !

Add your top coat, and your done !

Dont forget to clean up around your nails to make it look even better !
Personally, i enjoyed doing this mani. it was fun to do, and looked vey spring like with the different colors.
TIP - when doig the dabbing, and u find u took off to much of the top color, or theres to much there, dab a small amount back onto the nail and dab with the saran wrap, gently, again ! i had to fix a couple up this way.
I really hope you enjoyed reading and give it a try if you liked it.

And dont forget, to leave me a comment <3
till next time !!!!

French Zebra.

Hello hello hello !
Little late getting around to my blog, but im here now ! :)

My latest mani is/was a zebra design with french tip nails. I saw this design on another site and i thought it looked awesome and really fun to do. It is one of my personal fav manis i have done. I usually do a mani, and i have to sit and look at it and actually sleep on it before i will say i really like it... But this one, as soon as my top cot dried and i cleaaned it up, i love it ! I found it came out very clean and just looked reaally nice to look at.

Now to start with, this is the polishes i used for this cute zebra french mani !!

SALLY HANSEN - BLACK HEART
SALLY HANSEN - WHITE OUT
STRIPE RITE - BLACK
STRIPE RITE - WHITE
ART DECO - INTESE PINK
Base coat
PRO-FX PROTEIN ENRICHED
Top Coat
SALLY HANSEN INSTA DRI

so lets get started with my small little tutorial shall we?!

STEP 1:

so, i started off using the white out and black heart. On my thumb and ring finger, paint the nails with the white and black, in a diangle. corner to corner kind of way. I use 2 coats of both colors just to get the colors nice and "true" i guess is that word.
as shown below.

 STEP 2:

Take the black stripper and on the white part of the nail, make the zebra strips. I just alternated sides and "flicked" the brush back and forth. It worked good for me. and i like how it turned out.
as shown below

STEP 3:

Next, i used scotch tape. and made a simple french tip on the other 3 nails. The tape will make a cleaner line.
On the thumb and ring finger, take your pink stripper, and make a pink line between the black and white, seperating them. I used 3 coats of that, since mine allowed the black and white show through a bit. so just put enough layers on to make it a nice pink.
as shown below.

STEP 4:

Having th pink stripper out, make a pink line across the bottom of the french tip on the other 3 nails. I find, if you move the finger your working on, instead of moving the brush, it is easier to make a pretty nice straight line :)
Do the same thing with the black stripper on the bottom of the pink line you just made.
as shown below

And finally, apply your top coat and clean up around the nails with polish remover. And poof,
DONE !!!!

I really hope you enjoyed seeing how i made this very simple, and pretty mani ! it took me approx 40 mintues to complete.
TIP !!!---And if you want to make the tips more curved, use a PLASTIC band-aid end. Yeap !! i tried with a fabric one, but if you polish on the top of that, it actually seeps through and makes a mess.... I didnt do the curve because its easier for me to make straight line, then it is to make a curved lol.

I enjoyed sharing this with you and it was a fun design to create. I had people compliment my nails with this design and i hope you give it a try.

Please leave me a comment and dont be scared to share ! I love showing off my nails !!

Thank you muchly <3

la, la, la ladybugs !

Hello again !
Well, i did a new mani :) a very simple and cute, ladybug design ! with 2 different variations of ladybugs.
Now, the reason for doing it is simple, its spring time, and it was snowing here yesterday...so I wanted a little springtime on my nails :)

cute right ? <3

The colors I used are:

Sally Hansen : Cardinal
Sally Hansen : Black Heart
Sally Hansen : white out
Stripe Rite : Black
Stripe Rite : White
Base Coat - Sally Hansen Diamond shine
Top coat - Sally hansen Insta-Dri

Here is how i did these cute little nails, with pictures !
**sorry if the pictures are not very good**

Step 1:

I put base coat on all of my nails. And on the thumb and ring finger, I painted 2 coats of the cardinal.

Step 2:

with cardinal, on the rest of the nails, paint, the top of a heart shape on the tips of you nails ( 3 ). And with the black stripper, make a little "arch" int he middle of the "heart" shape is. Also, outline the red, with the black stripper.

Step 3:

Fill in the black arch, with black. What I did was, i dipped a tooth pick into black polish and filled it in that way, it was easier then using th stripper.

Step 4:

Now, take the black stripper, and make a like down the middle of your thumb and ring finger.
also, put 2 little lines on the black 1/2 circle, this makes the little feelers on your tip ladybugs.

 Step 5:

On the thumb and ring finger, paint th tip, black. This is the head of the ladybug.

Step 6:

Alost done ! now, comes details. with a white, make 2 white dots on the black tips on the thumb and ring fingers for eyes ! I used the tips of 2 different sized paint brushes, but if you have a dotting tool, use that :)
Continuing with dots, put smaller black dots in the white dots to make pupils of the eyes !!
While you have your black and dotting tools out, put dots on the red of all the nails.
Starting to look more ladybug-ish now hey ?

Step 6 :
Final !

Now take your white stripper, and outline the black lines on the 3 nails with ladybug tips. Like the head, the lines by the head and the feelers. I found this broken up the black and gave it a nicer look.
The put your top coat on and,
 ta-da !! lady bug nails !!

I hope you enjoyed this small tutorial on how to create this little design. Im not the best at explaining things out, so good thing i had pictures this time, **haha**
This is my very frst tutorial and im hoping to do more in the future ! Give this design a try !! it was so fun doing it and didnt take overly to long to complete <3

I really hope you enjoyed this as much as i did!
Leave me some feedback, !

All So Purple !

Hello again,
I have recently done my nails, again. My new nails are purple fade and big sparkles, also purple and silver in color. I was sitting on a bed chatting with my sister while doing them, and wasnt giving my nails 100% attention, but i dont think they turned out to bad.
I decided to do purple because i actually like purple, and i had different shades of purple and i wanted to try the all out...really :) so heres the finished result !

So, to achive this very simple design, I used 3 different purples, a white for detail, and a purple stripper as well for detail that you cant see in the photo. And 2 sparkle polishes a toothpick and a sponge.

polished used names are (from left to right)

Sally Hansen : White out
Revlon : Plum Night
Sally Hansen : No Hard Feelings
Bonita : Lilac Fields
Art Deco : vibrant purple
Color Club : 947 Backstage Pass
Sally Hansen : Disco Ball
Base coat - Sally Hansen diamond shine
Top coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

**forgot the plum night in this picture**

To achive the purple fade, I took the plum night, and paintd a couple coats onto the nails. Then, i took "no hard feelings" and sponged on a couple of coats 3/4 of the way down my nail. Then, i took the lilac fields, and sponged on a couple coats of that 1/2 down the "no hard feelings". Once the colors were on my nails, i painted over them with "disco ball" then simply took the art deco, made a couple of flicks in the bottom corner of my nail. I used the white out, and a toothpick, and made 5 dots up one side of my nails. I used a fast drying top coat and, done !!

For the thumb and ring finger, i applied the plum night, in a couple of coats, and once it dried, i put on multiple layers of the backstage pass then applied a fast drying top coat !
DONE !

Thats it really.

I found the backstage pass, a little difficult to use and the plum night is very thin. the lilac fields was a bit thin as well, but it was a cheaper polish and i expected that. I like using the sally hansen polishes, i find they go on very nicely and it usually doesn't take a lot of coats to get the way i want it. But thats my personal opinion :)

I hope you enjoyed my first ever nail explaination of how i did my nails. And maybe next time, i will try to do a tutorial with photos of each step. :)

Please leave me your feed back and let me know what you think of the shiney purple fade <3

about me. My little Introduction.

HI !!
Being the first time i ever ever ever writing a blog, im not sure how to start... so i guess i will say a little about myself.
My name is Tara, im 25 and Im a mother of 2 young boys, 2 yrs (3 soon) and 1 1/2 years old. I am recently engaged for the father of my childern, and been with him for over 6 years. I live in a small nowheres town in Nova Scotia Canada. I enjoy being out and about and on the go. I do everything with my kids. everywhere i go, they are usually with me. I do get breaks, but sometimes i prefer to have them with me :)
i like art, music, being outside, traveling, crafty things..so on and so forth..i like being busy HA
We use to live out in central canada, but I decided, while pregnant with my 2nd baby, to move here, in the east coast, since this is where im originally from. I figured it would be better for the kids to grow up in a smaller town.
When I do find time for myself, ( which does not happen often, haha) i really enjoy doing my nails. I consider myself kinda good at it, haha. I do not consider myself, at all, professional. I do not have 100's of polishes, i do not know the best products, i do not know how to use stamps.. you have the picture ? haha. I hand paint all of my designs by hand, by myself. and sometimes it does take m over an hour to do both hands.
I prefer to paint on my own nails, and not use fake nails... they seem fun to paint and design, but having the 2 childern, they are not practical for my lifestyle, at all ! so i stick to natural nails. I do square shape them myself and if they are to short to do so, i round them

These nail are one of my favs that I have done. Colorful Leapord and Cheeta print. Here are a few more nail designs I have done.

The minnie mouse nails i got ideas from the internet and put them all together and created my creation. Now, the Thomas The tank engine, I created this design and it took me so long, due to the details i put onto. one of my favs as well. One day, im thinking of making a tutorial on how to creat the super cute design.

Cookie monster nails with dots and "weaved"

So, in this short introduction to me and what my blog is going to be about  and what kinda things you will see one this blog is mainly my nails. Designs i have done and created. And I'm thinking of doing some nail turtorials of fun designs. :) feel free to add me to google+ if you wish and see my other nail designs. :)
These are my little, simple nailart designs :)
I look forward to hearing your feedback and to write more nail blogs <3
